A buddy of mine is debating on selling a Pontiac 400 with a 400 Turbo transmission that we pulled from a Firebird. He dropped a built SBC in, simply because of cheaper parts, and the fact that we were given a free 350.
My jaw hit the floor when I saw some 400's going for up to 3k for the engine alone on Ebay. Obviously, I think that's a wee bit overpriced.
I thought of using it in a Locost El Camino... and use it to tow other Sevens when going abroad. Still thinking about that.
We have a Fiero that we bought for a kit car, and the kit never materialized, so I think we're going to take the spare 60-degree V6 and make a Locost for him with that.
So much stuff to do, so little time.

He's on his way over, I'll post once he gets here. He's waffling, most likely. It was running fine when we pulled it, he just wanted moar powah. It may or may not be caused by my taunts about one-wheeled burnouts with mullets blowing in the breeze.

Is he looking to go cheap, or is he looking at the current market price? My buddy was debating on putting on ebay. I have to look a little closer at current pricing. If he's serious, give me an offer, and I'll let him know. MaclarenII at Juno dot com

Location? 400's can be made to run in the 12s pretty cheap. Is the 350 already modded?

Ohio, and yes, they can, but the Pontiac 400 parts are at least twice the price. The 350 was supposedly already built, but he ended up spending a bit anyway.

That's too bad. Keeping the car stock would make it worth more, but it's his car. Too bad you're not closer to me, I'd snatch up that 400 and beat up a few Chevy's with it.

This car was far beyond the option if keeping stock. The previous owners had beaten it within an inch of its life. Was painted with black primer, wiring was a rat's nest, over all hillbilly special.
